Bradford AP Academy provides home education and support for students that are temporarily unable to access on site provision through our team of qualified home tutors.
The home engagement curriculum is designed to re-engage students in learning and fill key gaps in their core curriculum. The curriculum is also designed to reduce anxiety with regard to socialising and education, increase confidence, trust and resilience. The personalised curriculums are designed to support students onto their next transition, whether this is onto the sites or into their next educational setting.
The home engagement package will start with 1:1 teaching of students, often in their home. This will build up to education outside of their home environment at The Bungalow, progressing from 1:1 sessions into small group work and then onto the sites or their next educational setting. Each student will be on a personalised journey that is built on the national curriculum, with a focus on building confidence and resilience and reducing anxiety. Staff are committed to building trusted relationships with students in order for them to progress to a wider environment.
The main aim of the home engagement is to re-engage students who have not been accessing education and provide them with the skill set to access a more mainstream approach either on site or in their next setting. Students will be supported to develop strategies to reduce anxiety and social, emotional and behavioural needs. Where appropriate students will work towards qualifications that reflect their ability and support them into their next educational setting.
