About The Bungalow
Due to the unprecedented number of permanent exclusions in Bradford we have temporarily amended the purpose of the Bungalow whilst we ensure that as many students as possible are able to access face to face education. The Bungalow will serve as a pre site assessment centre for 6 students, 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. Once students have undergone their initial assessment and a place becomes available at Aireview or Jesse St, the students will then transition to one of these sites and access full time education.
Intent
The Bungalow offer at Bradford AP Academy aims to re-engage students through a flexible curriculum adapted to the needs of each individual student. This is done after a preliminary assessment to identify current gaps and their ability to move towards work related expectations.
Through the teaching of age-appropriate work in the core subjects of English and Maths, together with practical subjects of art and cooking, we aim to improve their confidence as well as their social, emotional and mental health and well-being.
By striking the right balance between core subjects and practical skills for each individual student, trust is established through positive relationships. This builds on their confidence and prepares them for transition to our larger sites with the minimum of anxiety and the best prospect of success.
Students, when ready to move on, will be individually supported into the next educational phase of their journey.
